Before we really get into the meat and potatoes of this, I must preface by saying, no flat out tellling you the reader to go back to my “Aces (Acy) beats Kings” article. This is to understand completely on where I am coming from. Now once again the Sacramento Kings are doing Sacramento Kings like things. You know it sucks when you have arguably the best center in the NBA in Boogie, but you fail to surround him with championship like pieces. Here we are, still in the beginning of free Agency of 2016 and nothing has changed. Wait, What? There are changes? Ok well let’s look at those changes thus far:
Promising Guard Seth Curry’s qualifying offer from the Kings were rescinded making him an Unrestricted Free Agent. Seth, then signed a 2 year $6 Million dollar deal with the Dallas Mavericks.
Seldom Used Veteran Caron Butler was waived.
Unrestricted free agent Rajon Rondo signed a 2 year $28 million dollar deal with the Chicago Bulls.
Sharpshooting veteran swing man Marco Belineli was traded in the 2016 NBA draft to the Charlotte Hornets for the No. 22 overall pick.
Now those were the subtraction. I myself did not agree with these transactions at all. Remember folks, the 2015/16 Sacramento Kings were in 7th place in the west, in December and early parts of January. I felt like they could have ended their playoff drought this past season. Just so much went wrong. They needed minor tweaks. A fine tuning. Now what they’re doing I have no frigging idea. These are their Transactions so far in the 2016 off-season:
Hometown kid Matt Barnes signed a 2 year $12 million dollar deal.
Scoring guard Aaron Affalo signed a 2 year $25 million dollar deal.
Stretch 4 Journeyman Anthony Tolliver signed a 2 year $16 million dollar deal.
The Kings has potentially 4 rookies to suit up with them come October. Let’s go through some basic receipts for them
Georgios Papagiannis was drafted by the Phoenix Suns in the 1st round 13 overall. (Was traded to the Kings for the Kings #8 pick (who happened to be Marquese Chriss)
Malachi Richardson was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets in the 1st round 22nd overall and was immediately traded for Marco Belineli
Skal Labissieve was drafted by the Phoenix Sunset in the 1st round at 28th overall (See the Papagiannis deal above)
Isaiah Cousins was drafted in the 2nd round 59th overall.
At this moment on 7/5/16 @11am it’s pretty safe to say that the Kings are in full rebuild mode. Granted Free agency just started and Quincy Acy has yet to emerge as a resigned candidate. Also the Kings has gauged trade interests for “the coolest taper in the league” Rudy Gay.

Also, as of right now the Kings Has committed to 10 players as of now at an estimated $72.2 Million dollars in cap space. (These figures do not include the rookie deals as of yet) factor in once the rookies sign there deals the kings will still have an estimated $7-$10 million dollars in cap space to jerk off with. (yes I just put that, deal with it)
The 2015/2016 NBA season for the Kings was reminiscent to watching a Michael Bay film. You had a good cast and great promotion, but too many explosions. We as fans (not even Kings fans, just fans in general) knew that this season was on a collision course for the shitter. Head Strong Rajon Rondo, Mixed with the Man’s Man Boogie, Mixed with the quiet but inefficient at times Rudy Gay, Mixed with “I’m the king of the regular season” George Karl, It’s honestly amazing that this team finished at 33-49. Understand they were just 8-9 wins away from getting that coveted 8th seed. That’s not bad at all. Given the circumstances.
Moving forward, I hope this team can turn it around. It sucks that most of my life, The Kings and The Warriors haven’t been good at the same time. Since my birth in 1983 the Kings and the Warriors has never made the playoffs in the same season. I want this to happen before I croak, ya know. Also please understand I am not beating on the Kings, no, I am simply making sure their voices are heard. Just like any team we have our die hearts. I am rooting for the Kings to succeed. But to do that we must honor their ineptness as a orginzation, but not the fan base. Keep checking on us for updates. Let us as a fan base stop these bad owners and bad decisions from getting guys like Boogie and Anthony Davis to their promise land. And remember
KINGS PLAYOFFS BERTH IN 2017? 18? 19? 20?
