 NBA Tip-Off

The Golden State Warriors played  opening night  with no energy and no heart. Steph Curry and Kevin Durant were the only two Warriors playing worth a damn. There was no energy until about 3:30 left in the second quarter. When the above mentioned duo decided, the hell with everybody else on this team! In order to win we have to take over… which never materialized. Draymond Green was playing like he was still sulking from getting suspended in the Finals, and Klay…. Klay was being Klay Alexander Thompson. You know you’re not doing something right when your whole name is called.

Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge dominated the Dubs all game, but really made a statement directed dead at the defending Western Conference champs. Leonard had a career high 35 points, and contributing 5 rebounds and 5 steals as well. LaMarcus who was in trade rumors just this week, beasted on the Warriors with 26 points and 14 rebounds. Proving his worth, and helping his argument that he can be the man in San Antonio. Surprise of the night from the team from Texas was Johnathan Simmons, who poured in 20 points, shot over 60 percent from the field, and put his mark on every single stat category except for steals.

The Warriors starters waited until the fourth quarter when they were down big to show what they could be—but it was too late. The bench will come back to haunt this team mark my words. The depth is an issue and no where as good as the last couple of years. Well, guess the starters will be playing extensive minutes. Better get started on that cardio.

Chemistry,  trust, and ball movement will have to be a point of emphasis going forward for this team to be successful at the end of the year—and beyond.

But with a 29 point opening night beating… all that needs to happen faster than the pace of which the pressure will mount.

The Cleveland Cavs destroyed the Knickerbockers of New York. Remember when Derrick Rose was being all delusional a couple of months back, saying “people” were calling them a super team? Whats the opposite of super? Because that’s how the “Super Team” of New York looked. No ball movement, too much 1 on 1 play, and too many jump shots. The Cavs played the total opposite of how the Knicks did, thus an ass whoopin’ ensued. LeBron messed around and got a triple double. Not the fake Ice Cube version either. 19 points 11Rebounds 14 Assist. Kevin Love had 23 points and 12 rebounds, and Kyrie poured in 29 points.

The Knicks were a hot mess. Derrick Rose was decent in doses. Ultimately no one wanted to move the ball and everyone ended up with horrible shooting percentages. Carmelo was 8/18, Derrick Rose was 7/17, Kristaps Porzingis was 5/13, and Brandon Jenning was 1/7.

The end result was the Cavs winning by 29. Although the ass whooping was worse.

World Series

Jon Lester and the Chicago Cubs left their A-Game in the Windy City. The Cleveland Indians took game one—and by took I mean Deebo’d game 1. In the first inning Cleveland scored 2 runs,  and at one point had the bases loaded, threating to score more. The Indians had 10 hits, 6 coming off of Jon Lester. And although Lester had 7 K’s, he didn’t look very good. His first Game 1 World Series loss. On the other side, Cory Kluber looked dominant, striking out 9, in 6 innings pitched. The player of the game though had to be Jose Ramirez, who, every time I looked up, was getting on base. going 3/4 with a double, and a RBI. Francisco Lindor had a day as well, going 3/4 as well with a double and a stolen base (should of been two).

Today the rest of the NBA plays their opening game, and I’m mostly looking forward to the Detroit Pistons. Also Game 2 of the World Series is tonight. So much to keep up on so little time . More late night coffee for me.

  1. I know it’s only the first game of the season, but I was laughing that we got beat. We needed it. Did u see Javale McGee get baptized at the final seconds? Wow. The spurs exposed the Warriors and as I said, They should of kept Festus. They need to get bigger. Varejo nweds to go. Ian Vlark played solid so did McCaw. I noticed that Steph was going to the hole more which is what he needs to do, but they are still to 3 happy.

    • Yea it was way too many 3’s. Looked like the same problems from last year. Klay & Draymond just kept firing despite the fact they weren’t making any. Poor shot selection, poor decision making. Horrible defensive rotations.
